After
offloading the
tyres, a
thorough
inspection and
detailed
marking of any
defects takes
place.
Electronic
measuring
devices - for
accurate
measuring of
the tyre width
- determine
the amount of
new rubber to
be used and
into which
mould the tyre
is to be
placed for the
manufacturing
process.
Workers feed
the raw rubber
in the
earthmover /
tractor
building
machine, using
precisely
enough
material to
eliminate the
waste of new
rubber.
The pealing
process
removes all
excess rubber
from the tyre
casing. During
this process,
the operator
can determine
how much
rubber should
be removed.
The round
cutting blade
is very sharp
and of a very
hard material.
At this point,
a very high
level of
concentration
is required,
for any lack
of judgement
can render the
casing
unusable.
For the
rebuilding of
earthmover
tyres, the raw
materials are
made for the
specific tyre
and then fed
into an
extruder which
remixes the
raw rubber and
extrudes it as
a ribbon. The
extruded
rubber runs
along a line
of rollers,
dropping the
temperature of
the rubber,
which ends at
the stripwinder's
building head.
The
stripwinder's
building head
applies the
rubber onto
the buffed
casing under
very high
pressure,
until the
exact amount
of rubber
needed for the
retreading
process is in
place.
The most
modern, fully
automatic
equipment is
used in the
hot
reproducing of
earthmover /
tractor tyres.
